Bonfire Mingle Post || OTA

Around the time the sun is starting to set in the early to mid-evening on Saturday, 11/12 as promised, Lydia will (hopefully with the help of Allison and a couple of others) have set up a bonfire on the beach. She's brought several bags of marshmallows, boxes of graham crackers, bars of chocolate, and s'more skewers so that s'mores can totally be a thing. There's also plenty of blankets and towels spread around, because she wants to be sure everyone is comfortable. Jill has offered to bring the alcohol.

Lydia can be found making her way around, greeting and mingling with anyone who arrives and throughout the night. She'll be doing her best to appear approachable so that anyone who maybe hasn't ever been to a bonfire and has questions will feel comfortable approaching her to do that.

Jill has an excellent point. Alcohol is a wonderful way to make friends. Lucy doesn't mind leading Jill into friendships, but she wants to see Jill realize how amazing and wonderful she is all on her own.

"Definitely to the s'mores," Lucy agrees, picking up her own drink and reaching for Jill's hand to lead her to the bonfire and the s'more station that Lydia sat up.

Lucy's hand in hers is familiar and comforting. She doesn't even think twice about it anymore. They've held hands for almost as long as she's known Lucy, even before their friendship turned into something more, something with benefits. Lucy has only ever seemed right to Jill, in all ways.

They get to the fire and the ingredients are sitting there. Jill picks a spot close to the fire, digs a small hole in the sand to hold her beer in, and then reaches for two skewers, one for her and one for Lucy.

"So, over there, the girl talking to Cam... that's Cam's sister. Sophie." She says softly under her breath.

Lucy has always been a touchy person. She hugs, she holds hands, she kisses cheeks and she often just kisses. It's kind of one of her favorite things: kissing. Initially, kissing Jill started out as a way to get free drinks. However, the more she ended up getting her heartbroken, the more she turned to Jill and eventually they ended up in this very open relationship with each other.

Lucy follows suit and digs a place in the sand for her drink, murmurs a thank you for the skewer and starts to grab a marshmallow. Her attention is diverted by Jill's comment. She isn't even subtle when she looks over at Cam and Sophie.

"Ooooh. Did you met her? Was she nice?"

"Yeah, she came up to me to introduce herself." Jill explains. "She was nice. I was awkward, so pretty much quid pro quo."

Jill settles her marshmallow in some of the flame. She likes them burnt, which she gets is weird, but whatever. "She said Cam told her I was hot and that I like beer like he does." The beer part is true. Jill has never been one to think highly enough of herself to call herself hot. But she also thinks there's something to be said for the fact that Cam mentioned her to his sister at all.

"She gets points for being nice." Lucy isn't going to assure Jill that it probably wasn't as awkward as she thought. It wouldn't do much good and Jill is awkward around new people. The fact that Sophie is her crush's sister probably made her more awkward.

Lucy likes them burnt as well, so she doesn't think it's weird at all. "Cam has good taste." There's definitely something to be said for the fact that Cam mentioned Jill to his sister. Especially since said sister hasn't been here very long.

"Yeah, we'll see if I can keep it up. I mean... the likability thing." Because if ever there was a self-saboteur, it's Jillian Leighton. At the same time, he's still around in spite of Jill oscillating between awkward and not every time they get together. He's here tonight, after all.

"In any case, I'm glad he got his sister here. That was the only thing he was really concerned about when we first met." She says. "I imagine them being as close as you and I are. But with the added sibling thing. I'd be lost without you too."
