Something about the roses made Claire feel a little more hope in this place than she had since the snow had arrived. She had quickly gathered the snow up and tested it in hers and Myrnin's lab. Strange that the components of said snow were like nothing she had ever seen before. But it was gone now and she was grateful for that. Maybe, given what she knew of the snow, she should have been more careful about gathering up the roses she has and carrying them into the bookstore. But she wasn't careful.
Instead, Claire cuts the stems small and puts them in extra coffee mugs on the checkout counter and on the various tables and other flat surfaces scattered about. She puts them in the windows and along the stairs leading up and up to the other floors of the book store. Then she gets to work.
However, after a few hours Claire closes Subtext early. As the day wore on, all she could think about was getting home to the apartments and to Myrnin. She has no true purpose in getting home to him. But it's something she feels she needs to do. Maybe, once she's there, she'll know why she needs to see him. Along the way, she picks even more roses and gathers them up, carrying them into the apartment building and leaving some at the automated front desk. Then she goes up to the apartment she shares with Myrnin.
"Myrnin!" She calls out. "Home early! Hardly anyone was checking out or buying books." Yes, that's the best excuse for her being home now and not later.
ooc: Subtext, like most of Itinere, is a sentient bookstore. If your muse is thinking of a book, it will somehow appear before them. However, they are free to peruse the shelves as well. Claire is cursed, of course, and she'll only have eyes for Myrnin. But she will be as helpful as possible before she skedaddles on out of there. A description of Subtext is HERE.

How could he not?
Myrnin is aware that Claire wouldn't say those words if she weren't affected some how. However, he's not human. He is a monster and when Claire kisses him like that and will he had to turn her away disappears. He kisses her as well, hands sliding to the small of her back to pull her closer to him.

Maybe if she can get even closer to Myrnin, he'll see why she needs to be like him, to be with him forever. She can prove to him that he needs her in the capacity of 'always'.
This is why she pulls her own tee up and off, leaning back long enough to do so, leaving her in her bra and jeans. Then her lips are on his again, just as fervent in their want as before.

Oh, he already sees that. He just doesn't want to do anything hasty and turn Claire into the monster that he is.
His brows raise at the way she pulls her shirt off and his eyes go a little glassy as he reaches out with one hand to trace his fingertips over the edge of her bra even as her lips meet his again and he returns the kiss, fangs descended of their own accord.

She feels like she has a lot to compete with. Myrnin has known so many women. He's been around longer than she can even really fathom in its entirety. She's one tiny spec on the road map of his life.
It doesn't even register as a threat when she feels the sharpness of his fangs on her lips. That's just a part of him. If she loved him, she had to accept that. And right now, she wasn't afraid.

Yup, not even considering that.
Yes, he's been around longer than she can fathom, longer than most humans can fathom and yes, he's known a good number of women in that time, but he's not thinking about any of them. All he's thinking about is Claire, about how she feels and tastes against him. How she'll give him everything right now and how he might very well take it.
No. Not everything.
He needs her human. Wants her human. She makes him more human. human.
His fangs slip ever so slightly, cutting the inside of her bottom lip a bit. He laps at the blood that beads there with his tongue, his hands trailing over her body.

Strange how that priority had shifted. But again, she doesn't give it much through beyond wanting Myrnin in every way.
His hands touching bare skin by themselves feel as if they need as much as she does. Her own hands are working his shirt open, button by button. This was new for them, this sort of touch and desire. And yet it feels right.
She gasps at that sting, the feel of his teeth breaking skin at her lips. Then she nods, deepening the kiss even more. Clearly she's telling him 'yes, drink'.

Basically, he's thinking about sex with Claire, which will include biting her because he's a vampire. It won't including turning her because that's a very technical, delicate process that shouldn't be undertaken when one is distracted by anything at all. The feel of her hands against his chest is an entirely new and absolutely fascinating feeling. It makes him regret the fact that both of them are so terribly clothed right now.
He sucks at her bottom lip as his hands rest at her hips, fingers slipping beneath the waistband of her pants. "I've always found these ridiculous," he says when the kiss breaks, the taste of Claire's blood still in his mouth. "Skirts are a great deal more convenient."
Says the man still wearing his own pants.

But right now, she almost immediately climbs off of his lap. She tries not to cry as she opens the fly to her jeans and slides out of them, leaving her in her bra and underwear. "I'll find more skirts to wear. Promise."
And then she's back in his lap, no clothes, just her. Her arms wrap around his shoulders again. "Better? Not ridiculous?" Yes, she's seeking his approval in a way Claire so rarely does.

When she climbs off his lap, he gives her a confused look, eyes narrowing a bit. He doesn't have time to really process what is going on or the implications of what is or isn't going on with Claire emotionally. It's been so long since he was human that he doesn't always understand humans or their emotions or the way they think.
However, once she's in his lap, he takes her chin in his hand, forcing her to look into his eyes. "Don't you dare. Change, I mean. Not for me or anyone else, Claire. After all, you wouldn't be the girl I want to stick in a computer and keep forever if you changed."
Because that makes logical sense to him. Probably only to him, but...His free hand skirts along the curve of her waist while his other hand still holds her chin as he leans in to kiss her.
