Something about the roses made Claire feel a little more hope in this place than she had since the snow had arrived. She had quickly gathered the snow up and tested it in hers and Myrnin's lab. Strange that the components of said snow were like nothing she had ever seen before. But it was gone now and she was grateful for that. Maybe, given what she knew of the snow, she should have been more careful about gathering up the roses she has and carrying them into the bookstore. But she wasn't careful.
Instead, Claire cuts the stems small and puts them in extra coffee mugs on the checkout counter and on the various tables and other flat surfaces scattered about. She puts them in the windows and along the stairs leading up and up to the other floors of the book store. Then she gets to work.
However, after a few hours Claire closes Subtext early. As the day wore on, all she could think about was getting home to the apartments and to Myrnin. She has no true purpose in getting home to him. But it's something she feels she needs to do. Maybe, once she's there, she'll know why she needs to see him. Along the way, she picks even more roses and gathers them up, carrying them into the apartment building and leaving some at the automated front desk. Then she goes up to the apartment she shares with Myrnin.
"Myrnin!" She calls out. "Home early! Hardly anyone was checking out or buying books." Yes, that's the best excuse for her being home now and not later.
ooc: Subtext, like most of Itinere, is a sentient bookstore. If your muse is thinking of a book, it will somehow appear before them. However, they are free to peruse the shelves as well. Claire is cursed, of course, and she'll only have eyes for Myrnin. But she will be as helpful as possible before she skedaddles on out of there. A description of Subtext is HERE.
