President Cell Phone (he hates that nickname, but then...Jane so he doesn't much have room to talk) called a meeting. It's about time they properly saw Monmouth in and got this quest off the ground. Really, Gansey just wants to see all of his people in one place. He's still a bit unsettled about everyone's position in the city. Blue has moved into Monmouth, which Gansey likes, but it's also changed the dynamic of things, or at least he thinks that's what's changed the dynamic. Ronan has been by Monmouth and rattled through his room, taking stock Gansey thinks, but he hasn't stayed the night. It's not unusual for Ronan; there are nights back in Henreitta that his bed goes unslept in as well. Adam hasn't ever lived at Monmouth, but Gansey wants to give him one last offer and he wants to make certain that everyone knows they're welcome to stay here.
Not to mention the quest. He's not certain if it's the same quest to find Glendower or whether it's a different quest, to find a way out of here so they can return to the Glendower quest. Either way, it's something for Gansey to research, something for him to take notes on and something for him to occupy his time with. It's an important facet of Gansey. He's secretly (not so secretly) an obsessed individual that can easily fall into depression without something to focus on, something productive to obsess about.
In any case, meeting. Yes. There's pizza and Jane has cleaned up a bit. Gansey had to run her out of the main room because things are scattered just the way he likes. He's shuffling through papers on his desk and making notes, mint leaf between his teeth when everyone starts to arrive. He'll put that aside to mingle.
[Open to Ronan, Adam, Noah, Blue and Gansey. Mingle style. I'll probably do a formal 'let's get this meeting started' gansey thing further down. No particular posting order. Let me know if you want Ronan or Gansey in particular, otherwise...have fun? I just wanted TRC buds things]

His expression might be vaguely, smudgily smug with a bit of longing mixed in there. Not that anyone is looking.
He does, though, wonder where he fits: Blue and Gansey, even if they can't kiss. Now Ronan and Adam. Where does that leave the newly-real boy?
He pulls the sleeves of his sweater down over the palms of his hands.

She hadn't expected that. She's happy for them. Very happy. But also a little bit angry. She and Gansey agreed to keep that nothing that exists between them a continued secret even here so that they don't hurt Adam. And apparently, Adam's been in a (happy? insane? some sorta crazy?) relationship all along.
She gawks at them for a second more before glowering at Gansey and then looking at Noah with some concern. She doesn't miss that look of longing in his eyes. Quietly, she gets up and wraps her arms around the smudgy boy in a hug. She might not feel for him in the same way she does Gansey, but she still cares.

He blinks a bit, processing this whole thing and he feels like a fool, such a fool, for being afraid that he and Blue would hurt Adam with the sliver of a relationship that he can have with Blue. He is happy for Adam. He's happy for Ronan and he hopes they'll be good for each other rather than self destruct together.
Gansey catches that glower and clears his throat, looking down at the journal. His eyes follow Blue as she moves across the room to hug Noah. He nods a bit at Blue, glad that she's hugging Noah because he loves all of them, not the way he loves Blue, but they are all an intricate part of Gansey that he doesn't know how to function without.
Gansey rubs at his temple then speaks. "All right. I think its rather obvious that the weather is more Cabeswater than real and the fact that we seem to be able to wish things into existence here seems to support that. I know Adam mentioned to me that he kept up with the ley lines so we know the power can be depleted, or at least that power can be depleted. We have to separate how much power is coming from the ley lines and how much comes from the people overseeing this town. Or I think we should. Thoughts?"
no subject
His brow furrows when Gansey lets the cat out of the bag that the power can be depleted. He glances to Adam. Ronan has just been dreaming willy nilly without any thought of depleting the ley lines, without any thought of it having a negative effect on Adam. He lives with him. He'd see if there were a negative effect, wouldn't he? "Why didn't you tel me that the power could be depleted?"
Then his attention gets turned back to Gansey. "These guys don't make that regular an appearance. For all we know, the power can be sucked dry. Barns showed up here just before everyone got sick." He has no idea if the two things are related or not, but he thinks it's worth mentioning.

When Adam finally looks up again, he isn't sure what to make of the look on Noah's face either. He'd seemed fine with it earlier. Now it felt like it was not okay with him, like they had upset him. And maybe like they had upset Blue and Gansey somehow too. Blue was hugging Noah like he was... upset? Blue's look is odd too. Gansey's. He doesn't get it.
Ronan's hand on his wrist is the only thing keeping him sitting here. How was it even about Noah? Or Blue? Or Gansey? This was his one good thing.
Those last thoughts leave him feeling selfish. This one thing that was his getting this reaction from them is what he should have expected. Not the seeming understanding he'd gotten from Noah downstairs earlier. He knew that had been too easy. Of course this was an issue for the lot of them.
Adam has to look down so as not to see whatever is going on with everyone else in the room, reactions he has no context for and really doesn't get. He barely even registers that what Gansey said was a cat being let out of the bag. He shrugs. "I'm taking care of it." For you, Ronan. He's taking care of it for you.
"I think most of the power is them. Not Cabeswater." He says. "I'd feel it if someone else was using it."

First and foremost is being real and all that comes with that, which is complicated. He has to eat. And sleep (and shower and ... other things). And walk places (and run on occasion). He can die (most likely).
And so, with being real, it's a matter, then, of seeing where he fits. Four-sided things make sense. Five-sided things are more rare and weaker, right? Geometrically speaking.
Noah is, for the record, fine with Ronan and Adam being boyfriends. Adam seems to be good for Ronan, softening the razor edges to make them less dangerous to fall on. That has nothing to do with Noah (or Blue, or Gansey, even). Just like Noah's death ultimately doesn't have anything to do with the others (as far as he knows).
And Blue and Gansey are still Blue and Gansey and they can't kiss and Blue is hugging Noah now and she smells good and he hugs her as best he can at this awkward angle.
no subject
It also doesn't matter to Blue if the angle is awkward. She hugs him back and then, rather than moving back to her original seat, she stays next to Noah. Blue rests her head against his shoulder in silent support. She doesn't think that Gansey would mind much. Noah's alive again and has so much to deal with that she thinks he could use the comfort. And it's not like the other boys are so touchy-feely.
Although, apparently, Ronan is when it comes to his boyfriend. A lot more than she expected. It makes Blue wonder what else is under that asshole persona he likes to project.
She's grateful that Gansey keeps the conversation on track. She listens to them talk and then looks up when Adam says one word. "Them? The people in charge here? You think the magic comes from them and not the ley lines that run through this city?"
no subject
Gansey doesn't mind much. It's Noah and he believes he knows how Blue feels about Noah. Even if he doesn't, he doesn't really feel as if he's got any right to take anything from Noah. He's already alive because Noah is dead. That's quite enough to take from him, isn't it?
Gansey would testify to Ronan being a very complicated asshole.
He purses his lips at Adam's revelation and scribbles in his notebook a bit. "That would make them far more powerful than anyone or anything we've encountered thus far, which is probably stating the obvious a bit," he admits. "However, we ought to assume they've some sort of power limits. Perhaps it's time to start testing those?"
no subject
"I know the Barns didn't come from the ley lines and it had to take a fuck ton of power to get it here right." And it was right, down to the mice sleeping in the grain bags.
He grins at Gansey's suggestion. "Now you're talking. I can dream up a shit load of things to piss these guys off."
no subject
It's hard to be Adam's friend. He knows that. It's even harder to be anything more than that, as evidenced by his history on such matters.
Which brings him to Ronan, Ronan who likes a challenge, who fights hard enough for the both of them. Ronan's hand around his wrist tethers him, relaxes him. And slowly, his shoulder eases in to relax and press into Ronan's. A sign that he'll see this through and is with Ronan with or without the tethering baring any other complications.
"They're powerful. Like genies." He glances at Noah and then quickly away again, remembering the analogy the other had made not long ago. "You wish for something and it's here... for the most part."
At Ronan's suggestion, Adam arches a brow, staring at his notes. "You wanna piss off the most powerful beings we've ever encountered? I'm voting against that."

Wishes coming true. It's a scary thought, just how powerful these people might be. But it's also something that makes her fall quiet. If they can grant wishes, if they can grant them like Glendower might once they awaken him, could she wish for Gansey's life? Could she finally kiss him, and with one wish, counteract the curse that's haunted her most of her life?
Quietly, "I'm with Adam and Noah."
Because she needs to seek these people out now. See just how many wishes they can make come true.
no subject
He hasn't thought about them being able to circumvent Blue's prophecy. He would like nothing more than to kiss Blue, to be able to kiss her anytime he liked, but that's not something that genies can fix, is it? If it is, it's not something he's thought they could fix.
In response to Ronan's answer, Gansey pinches the bridge of his nose. He doesn't look up until after everyone else has cast their opinion. "I think perhaps we ought to explore their boundaries and sources of power before we start pissing them off," he suggests calmly. "Adam, is it all right if I bring the Pig to your garage tomorrow? I'd like for you to look at it and make certain that everything under the hood is the same." He doesn't want those assholes to have fixed his car.
no subject
"Fine," he scowls. "They managed to recreate the barns right down to mice sleeping in the grain sacks."
no subject
"You're all missing the big messed up point here." He says quietly. "I didn't ask for the garage. Ronan didn't ask for the Barns. Things just appear when we think we need them... a passing thought."
He pauses, looking around the room at each and every person as that sinks in. "They're connected to us... in here." He taps his index finger against his brow. "They can read our thoughts. Whether it's the people who seem to be in charge, three that I can count so far, or whether this place is sentient in some way, it's in our heads."
Adam wouldn't wish his thoughts on anyone, as dark as they can often be. And the way he shifts uncomfortably when he's done putting that out there, it's obvious that he does not like the idea. Adam tries so hard not to abuse the privilege. Because it's just a reminder of that greatest of intrusions.
He shrugs, hands gesturing out dramatically. And Adam is not a dramatic person unless he's uncomfortable or upset beyond the ability to keep it inside. "For all I know, I wished Cabeswater and the ley lines here."
no subject
Honestly, he doesn't mind that idea, not really, because it means that he matters. But who would go to the trouble of wishing him here, after all?
"If we can't control it," he says with a small shrug. "There's no point in getting worked up about it, is there?" It isn't as if they can change it then.
no subject
"No one should be allowed in your head like that," she counters. Her eyes narrow as she frowns, ready to tell off her friends as if they're the ones responsible for this situation. "It's an invasion of privacy, to say the least. A violation. I didn't ask to be brought here. Same with any of you. But just because we are here, doesn't give anyone the right to poke around in our minds like that."
