Greetings. I've only recently arrived and somewhat oriented myself (an insider's perspective would be better), and I believe I have stumbled upon quite the problem in this city.
I am not from a world where alternate universes exist, or at least, none that I know of. I'm from England and, last I checked, it was 2015 and the world had just been saved from certain destruction.
[ Naturally, she doesn't mention that it was special secret organization that put a stopper to the chaos. ]
I'm still not entirely sure what is happening here, but I do have some military training - [ And then some. ] and I would be happy to provide any help if needed.
I hope to see you in person. Thank you.

[He's kind of glad the weird comlink type device - he's still a little confused on how it ended up in his pocket - is easy to navigate, in any case.]
The comlink said I need to get to some apartment buildings , I think.

I've only been here for maybe a day, but perhaps we can figure this out together.
I believe we're all assigned a place to live when we arrive. Have you found your building yet?
no subject
I think I've been here about half a day - and no, still don't know where my building is. Have you?

In my world, especially in my region, there is this very popular fictional character called the Doctor who travels through time and space and he describes it as "timey-wimey," like a big messy ball of yarn. So, I suppose when I say parallel, it might not even be that.
I'm sorry this is very confusing. It makes just a little bit more sense when the Doctor explains it.
There's only one apartment building from what I gather. It will give you a room when you check in.
no subject
I gotcha. Do you want to meet up there and figure this place out together?
no subject
I can be there posthaste.

Gotcha. I'm Luke Skywalker, by the way. But just call me Luke.
[Fortunately for him, it's easier than he thought it would be to find the apartment building. Unfortunately, he's not exactly sure what the person who he was talking to on the comlink looks like.]

Roxanne. But you can call me Roxy. I've got dark blonde hair and glassse.
[ And, as promised, she quickly leaves the boardwalk where she had been trying to talk to people and finds her way back to the glossy, modern apartment complex. Interestingly enough, she hadn't been pleased by the aesthetic, preferring the modernized Victorian townhouse look – and that was what she had gotten when she opened the door to her new residence.
Roxy appears, looking crisp and professional in a three piece suit, which is an interesting contrast to her young-looking face. She looks friendly and uncertain. The Kingsman glasses are non-functioning, sadly, but still distinct. ]

Thank the Force he'd not ever been to Coruscant, or this place would seem terribly antiquated by galactic standards.
Meanwhile, he looks a little more dingy than he usually prefers since leaving his home, but one can't really blame him, since he'd just spent an inordinate amount of time on a swampy planet.
When he thinks he spots her, he waves her down. He's not sure what her weird goggles are about - he's never seen anything like them, since spectacles are considered primitive even for Tatooine.]
Hey - I think this is the place!
no subject
Deductive reasoning tells her that she has found the guy, though she has to check with a tentative smile when she approaches with a lifted hand, intending to wave. ]
Luke, is it? Hello.
no subject
He gives her a big grin back, an honest one - if he's stuck here for the time being, which he hopes he's not, it'd be nice to have a friendly face around.]
Hey, Roxy. Ready to go inside?
[Holding open the door for her. He'll ask about the goggles later, since he's curious now.]
no subject
A part of her wants to mention that she has, indeed, momentarily been in space, or at least outside of her planet's atmosphere... in order to blow up a satellite. But she has to keep her secrets guarded.
She smiles breezily as she enters the building. He certainly seems nice at least. ] Thanks.

[Her accent's interesting - almost like Old Ben's, and if he didn't know better he'd ask if she was from Stewjon, too. He wanders inside the apartment building, looking for some sort of sign.]
I wonder where we look to see what apartment we have to go to. Hope I'm not stuck here for long - I have a lot left to do on Dagobah.

[ Roxy leans against the automated reception desk, crossing her ankles and grinning at him, tapping the top of the computer. ]
You've got to enter some standard information about yourself and then it will give you a key with your room number. I'm on the tenth floor. From what I've gathered, whoever is behind this operation has customized each apartment to suit its resident. It's – it's strange.

[Hyperspace is one thing. Portals to what may or may not be another dimension is something completely different.
He punches in the information at the prompts, looking down at the key it spits out.]
Oh - huh. I'm tenth floor, too.

[Because as far as Jenny's concerned, Itinere has been nothing but a brilliant experience so far. Most of the new worlds that she's encountered tend to be that way.
If there is a problem, though, she wants to be part of the solution. She might have been born a soldier but now, she's absolutely determined to do anything that will make her father proud. Problem solving is right up that alley.]
Generation 5000 soldier, reporting for duty. I can help. Whatever needs done.

I've noticed that there are many sick people here.
[ Perhaps it isn't as obvious, but Roxy has been trained to spot these things. ]
I'm not sure what sort of disease has fallen but I've been here for roughly 24 hours and haven't caught anything airborne.
What do you mean 'Generation 5000?'
no subject
Jenny, please. I'm Jenny. Generation 5000 is my designation as a child of the machine.
I've been here for about a month now and haven't gotten ill. [Forget that Jenny isn't human.] Do you think it's an epidemic?
I am too lazy for formattiiiiiing
But then, I'm just as newly arrived from Chicago, a decade before your time.
Karrin Murphy. My background is law enforcement.
no subject
Now, that's fascinating. Different worlds and time periods.
Pleasure to meet you. I'm Roxy.

Alternate universes is the most surprising part of all this. I did know that it was possible to leave our own worlds and be placed in a different space entirely. The rest of it is new.
You asked to meet in person?
