deathbysk8board: (smudgy)

Open | Action: When the ghost becomes a boy

It isn't so much that Noah walks through a door. After all, he's more spirit than boy, more energy than being. But somehow, when he finds himself on a near a copse of trees, he seems to have a body. He can't tell if he's cold or not - he never felt cold, after all, even when he was dead and people said he was cold.

But this isn't Cabeswater. This isn't anywhere he's been. He doesn't know where he is and he doesn't know where his friends are.

And ... well, the things he doesn't know outnumber the things he does know and he's scared (which ... probably isn't a surprise). He wrings his hands together, turning a slow circle and he moves to where he's standing on a sidewalk.

"H-hello?" he manages. Can anyone even hear him without Blue's energy? Will Ronan and the others find him? The smudgy boy looks around, wide-eyed, his faded Aglionby sweater hanging loosely on him.

"I don't know," Gansey answers honestly, dropping Noah's wrist. "Maybe. Maybe you're like Matthew now." Which isn't a bad thing. Outside of the fact that if Ronan dies, Matthew will end up like Aurora, Matthew seems totally normal. He's a little dumb, a lot naive but Gansey thinks that has more to do with Matthew being the dream thing of a three year old rather than being a dream thing.

Gansey nods because Noah is right; he will figure it out or he'll work the problem for the rest of their time here. "I need to find a notebook. Something to record all these details in." He needed something to jot his thoughts in. "And a mint plant. Walk with me?"

They'll find Monmouth soon enough.

Gansey considers that, one eyebrow quirking up a bit. "That would be quite the feat, but I can't say I wouldn't be pleased for it."

He feels like a part of himself is missing without his notebook and speaking of missing parts. "They'd do one even better to have the Pig here." He sounds wistful and longing when he says that. The notebook might be a limb, but the Pig is Gansey's soul.
