I. MRS. O'LEARY'S ADVENTURE
[Lease laws. There is a big question to sit on Percy's mind today. See when he wakes up this morning, he finds his best furry friend sitting there at the edge of his bed staring at him, tailing wagging and knocking over anything in its path. Things crash, break against the floor even. He knows the only answer is to get her outside for a while.
And that's when the question hits him. Does she even need a lease? Would people care? Thing is Mrs O'Leary is an excitable dog and hungry one at that. Her nose can probably smell anything delicious a mile away, and with how energetic she was nothing was really holding her back from running up to the shop windows with food on display and licking the glass. Not really anything was stopping her from running up to people who carry food with them. Large red dog eyes would stare down as if asking permission to have what she sees. 'Pretty, pretty, please?' they could almost say.
On top of that, she wasn't exactly a poodle. Sure, back in his world, normal people saw her as one all the time, but he knows monsters here exist without mist covering up their true forms. His worry is if anyone coming face to face to her can mistake her as unfriendly. Add to that she was giant as tank with a gait powerful enough to make the ground vibrate...a little. And well. There's a concern he has with people seeing her as the hell hound she is. Even with her friendly appearance and tongue always hanging out to prove her innocence right away.
That in mind, Percy tries to stay mindful of anyone they come across on their walk and keeps up with her as best he can. In most instances he comes up running a little bit behind her with a wave to anyone the girl comes across because she's fast. He's watching out for her, too.]
Hey, hope she didn't scare you. Mrs. O'Leary here is just hungry, I bet. [He also gets the feeling she is playing 'follow the leader' with him in her exploration of this world, too. But it's okay. It's nothing he can't cope with.
He pats Mrs. O'Leary whom barks agreeably in response, when he catches up.] See! This girl's not going to eat you or anything. She's all friendly. No bite.
[Catching his breathe, he guesses maybe she does need a lease if she keeps him chasing her like this though. But also thinks food would be good to try appeasing her dogginess first. Last thing he wants is limiting any fun the ol' girl's having when they only just reunited.]
II. YOUR ADVENTURE
[Percy and Mrs. O'Leary will pretty much be everywhere around town from today on and not very hard to spot. They can be found doing things like trying to break the world's longest dog walk record, playing fetch with toys the size of car tires, or trying see who can eat the most hot dogs. You choose, folks.]

She just lets him mumble and figure out on his own what she'd already figured out. When he finally looks up, Annabeth is standing there with her hands on her hips regarding Mrs. O'Leary and Percy with skepticism. ]
Go to bed with me last night. You did that and Mrs. O'Leary did not.
no subject
Mrs. O'Leary could have found her way here the middle of the night? [He takes a guess.
Just before. Something else seems to hit him. He had a dream, didn't he. One of those demi-god ones that sometimes meant something important or sometimes didn't.] Or I could have wished her here. I remember dreaming about something.
no subject
She could have. [ Annabeth can be logical. ] But I'm not sure the blue door functions as a dog door and last I checked, she hasn't learned to turn doorknobs.
[ See. Logical.
Of course, then he goes and mentions a dream and Annabeth gets concerned. Her arms fall to her side and her brow furrows. ] About what?
[ Please don't be a prophetic dream. She's kind of enjoyed this normal life with Percy. ]
no subject
His hands raise a little more at her logical point, almost to the point of a shrug.] Why not? I'm not sure how else she would get here.
[He did mention a dream. Trying to think back to it, none of it really made sense to him and the rest of it was like a fog he was certain he seen something behind but at the same time unable to recall what it was he seen. He pulls what he can describe to the surface.] There was water. Lots of it. We were there. Someone else, too. Leo? A ship, and a talking sword? No, uh, that can't be right. We needed some extra help-- I don't know. None of it made any sense. But I woke up and Mrs. O'Leary was here.
[Perhaps he realizes after saying it that he could have just been dosing in and out of consciousness in his sleep, seeing the same things laying close by on their stands. Why? They couldn't have had prophetic dreams. They've been cut off for months, even with the little tip bits. And they were done. College bound whenever they got home. He's sure Annabeth knows how crazy it sounds.]
How about we focus on that? Celebrate it with a dog bone and cake. [He adds. Can't a boy at least try to find some leeway?]
no subject
[ Dosing in and out of consciousness is a much better thing. The odds that the dream is prophetic is very low, but many of the things that have happened to them had very low odds of happening. She listens, head nodding a little. She sighs, rubbing at her temple. ] Okay. Uhm...cake. That sounds good.
[ She's still a little distracted but it's early and she's easily bribed with cake. ]
no subject
He can't miss her rolling her eyes and feeling a bit judged. On the other hand, he isn't too thrilled with her bringing up the books either. He freezes for a second, not wanting to say the wrong thing.]
Well, a little, you know. Not anything like that. But it explains why she's here. I could have thought I needed her help in the dream.
[There's really no defence he has here. The both of know he hates spending too much time taking the time to read and they both know he can do it. It's all on Annabeth if she wants to get on him on that too, and he hopes she won't. As for the dream, he's sounding and less convinced whatever it is real, but at least a little bit sure it's why Mrs. O'Leary was wished to him.
He smiles just a little at the approval of cake. He makes his way around the bed, just then seeming to remember that his tee is gross with dog slober, and peeling it off to change.]
Cake, and we'll get Miss O'Leary a bone. [An acknowledgement as he comes to the dresser, dropping his dirty tee on the floor and switching it out for the purple SPQR one. He moves up to Annabeth, placing his hand her back to move to go when she was ready.]
no subject
So sorry, Percy. Your girlfriend is a little judgy. She consider's Percy's defence, head tilting a bit. ] Okay.
[ Still judging, but that sounds feasible enough. Besides, it's not like Annabeth doesn't want Mrs O'Leary here. She moves over to the side of the bed and reaches out to scritch Mrs O'Leary's ears.]
You've got a deal. [ She moves with Percy toward the living room and the front door. ] We taking the dog? [ She doesn't want to say her name and get her hopes up. ]
no subject
He's doing his best here. But logic and him? Well, let's just say he knew logic had Annabeth's back before it had his back. He shrugs it off.
He gives a shrug and a smile as a response.] Hey, what matters now is that she's here.
[He knows she means nothing of it. Seeing her and Mrs. O'Leary together makes him wish he could take a picture because it's nice. Mrs O'Leary looks happy and Annabeth looks like everything else he pictures in life. Maybe a part of him wishes he could take a picture then and there just to see Annabeth's reaction too.
Around the time they get to the door, he looks a little surprised by her question.] What. You think we shouldn't? [There had been no doubt in his mind that they'd her in, but he tries thinking what their options really are since she brought her up.] Well, yeah, I think we should. We're all she has. And Leo. I'm sure we can figure something out if you don't want her in our room.
[Don't worry Annabeth, Mrs. O'Leary's following just behind without the slightest clue. Last words she understood was 'dog bone'.]
no subject
Annabeth can agree with that but... ] And that she understand the importance of not drooling on us in the morning.
[ Because she can't let it go at that. If he decided to take a picture, he'd probably get a glare from Annabeth, provided she realized he was taking it before he snapped it. Afterwards...well, she might chase him around the apartment threatening to pummel him for a little while, but would ultimately let it go. ]
I'm okay with it [ And it's a good thing becaue Mrs. O'Leary is following them. ] I just wasnted sure you wanted to subject Itinere to Camp Half Blood's version of Clifford.
no subject
I'll teach her. [It's an offer as well as a question. Basically he's asking 'Is that good enough?'
Fortunate for him then he doesn't have a camera on hand then. Not that knowing she would do something like that would stop him from taking one. The Clifford comment gets a snort.]
I don't know if there's any way to change it now. We'll just have to show she's Mrs. O'Leary the big friendly Hell hound. It won't be hard.
no subject
[ Effort is always good enough for Annabeth. Well, usually. In any case, that's good enough for now. Maybe she'll learn to love the cuddling with Mrs. O'Leary even with the drool.
Annabeth makes a face at that.] Yeah. They'll see it soon enough.
[ Because the hellhound really is friendly. ]
no subject
[He brings himself to smile after a beat.] Yeah. We'll definitely make them see.
