Steve has been here for a week and though he knows that he needs to get back home and has been trying to find the right door to do so, he is also beginning to get used to the place.

There's a golden sphere sitting in the center of his table in his apartment. The apartment itself is an exact replica of the apartment he used to live in before he joined the army. It isn't fancy by any means, but it's the closest to feeling like "home" than any place he's been since. He wonders how they knew every detail, down to his mother's wooden breadbox. Even the kitchen sink makes the knocking sound his old apartment's used to.

It's a trip back in time, but it only exists within the walls of his apartment. Everywhere else is modern and technologically up to date. He feels like it should be disorientating, but mosty, he just feels strangely grateful to have somewhere he can go to where things still feel simple and uncomplicated.

He's not sure why he's decided to pen the sphere this morning, but curiosity gets the best of him. Maybe the gift is a way for him to find his way back home. Things may be infinitely more complicated, and even painful, but he has unfinished buisness and a best friend to protect.

He is not familiar with the song, but it's effects are quick. He immediately feels his spirits lift and when the song finishes he is surprised to find he feels a million pounds lighter. The sunshine seems to be missing from the downpour going on outside, but he can't help but want some company. He hasn't felt this good, since... before the war.

He finds the nearest bar and orders a round for everyone. He'll spend the next few hours there, having a good time for the first time in a long time.

Wanda, who has been living in the replica of the New Avengers Facility that was here when she got here, is continuing her efforts to be less elusive and holing herself up there. So, she makes her way to the bar that Steve happens to be in, and when she spots the familiar man, she walks over to him and gestures to the seat beside him. "Is this spot taken?" She asks in a light tone (though likely Steve would know that's her attempt at trying to force herself to not dwell on what had just happened back home with the Accords and whatnot).

What happened to her in the Raft was something she didn't fault him for -- as far as she is concerned, it's another thing on the list of offenses that Tony is at fault for. Tony and Steve had been friends, sure, and that's fine, but she'd never get along with the man.

She hugs Steve back, though -- she might not be so quick to hug a stranger these days, but it's Steve.

"You too. I'm glad you're here." There's a beat of silence. "I found the Avengers Facility here. Have you seen it yet? It's just me there for now; I'm .. staying in my room there, and you're obviously welcome to come claim a spot back in there." She figures she should say that first before she forgets. Before the topic of stuff that happened back home can be brought up too quickly.

Okay, so maybe he's at the Houndstooth again because he's hoping to see the Renee to his Tom. Cam can admit that: he's got an itty bitty crush on Jill, the bartender. That'll pass, he's sure, unless she fuels the fire, but for the moment, he kind of can't help the draw to the place.

What he is expecting is to be greeted by the Queen of Awesome Beer herself, but he does not expect Chris goddamn Evans to waltz in and start buying everyone a round.

"Dude, thanks!" he calls, raising his glass. "Hey, sorry...just...are you Chris Evans? I'm a big fan. Not a crazy one, don't worry, but just...you were awesome in all those Avengers things and everything."

Not Chris Evans, just a lookalike, maybe? Cam huffs his surprise and amusement at that. Hey, he'll take it. This guy should get paid for it; Cam's pretty sure there's a street out in Hollywood filled with celebrity lookalikes that charge to give autographs and take pictures with tourists. Someone that looked like a friggen Avenger, though, could make bank, Cam bets.

"My bad, sorry," he says apologetically, taking a drink. He hums an affirmation as he's swallowing and sets the glass down. "Yeah, you know? The Avengers? I'm not like a nerd or anything, but everybody has seen at least one of those movies, man, come on."

Cam's head shakes a little as his eyebrows lift and his eyes widen slightly. Is this guy for real? How does a person look like Chris Evans and not have heard of the movies by now? Has he been living under a rock? "...yeah, there's like three of them. And that's just Avengers, never mind all the individual movies, man."

But then he's talking like he actually is Captain America and Cam wonders if this is like the situation when Porthos was actually wearing period clothes because he was from a different time period. Are fictional people, like, a thing here, too?

"...I...uh..." he stalls awkwardly.

What, exactly is the protocol for something like this? How in the hell, Cam wonders, does one tactfully explain that the person they're talking to is...well, fictional, where one comes from? He takes a deep breath and lets it out softly. "Uh, yeah, no I get you. Quick question: have you been here a while or are you new like me?"

If he hadn't been around long, then Cam needs to approach this especially delicately, he thinks. Cap seems to be in a good mood, so that's reassuring, but all the same, Cam doesn't really want to be the guy who broke Captain America's brain, either.

Well, there goes that.

"A few days," Cam says, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I know that some pretty crazy stuff can happen here and people are coming in from all different places and times and everything," he goes on and then he stops, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly.

There's really no good way to do this and Cam really, really does not want to be That Guy, but it needs to be said.

"Okay, I'm just...there's no easy way to do this so I'm just going to say it and rip it off quick like a Band-Aid, man, okay?" he asks and then he pauses before continuing, "where I come from...the Avengers aren't real. They're characters in comic books. Movies. Cartoons. So...there's movies, but Captain America is played by an actor named Chris Evans. ...who you look exactly like. So..." his voice trails off awkwardly for a second before he finally finishes, "...that's why I thought you were Chris Evans...and that's why there's movies about the Avengers."

Matt has been at the gym, the one that smells, sounds and feels suspiciously like the gym his father had used back home, the gym that Matt now uses when he wants to take his frustrations out on a punching bag. He showers, gets dressed and jogs out in the rain, deciding to duck into the bar to see if the rain will let up before he heads on home.

He's got his cane out and his sunglasses on as he taps his way over to the bar. He knows there is someone sitting at the bar and that's just as well. He's got no real desire to be alone right now either. He sits down next to the man at the bar and leans his cane against it before ordering a beer. He doesn't say anything yet, doesn't let on that he knows anyone is there.

"Thanks," Matt says turning his head toward Steve. "Celebrating something?" he asks, listening for all the usual signals and signs he does when talking to someone like heartbeat, breathes, smells and that sort of thing. He'd come in here for company so he's pleased to have someone to talk to.

That's not a bad thing, even if there's no particular reason for it.

Matt can't help but smile at that. It's worthy of smiling. "That's a good thing." He raises his beer bottle a bit. "To life then."

He takes a sip before introducing himself. "I'm Matt Murdock."

All the rainy weather provides Gracie with plenty of reading time, but eventually she starts jonsing for company. She's made a couple of friends here, but no one she feels comfortable calling up to hang out yet so she heads to the nearest public place that looks like it might have people in it. That place happens to be a bar.

Gracie steps inside and sits down at the bar before ordering a beer. She takes a sip and looks around the room, then does a double take. The other guy at the bar looks uncannily like someone famous from her world. Don't mind her as she stares. Eventually, she'll remember her manners.

"Sorry. I'm--I'm Gracie. You look like someone I know."

Sorry. There's going to be so much staring.

She starts to take his hand then gapes some more. "Shut the front door." Because he can't be that Steve. That Steve is fictional and also Captain America, both are equally overwhelming and so cool.

Oh Steve. Someone needs to teach you these things.

"You're... Captain America. I mean...that Steve Rogers." He's the first 'fictional' person she's met here. So, so, sorry.

"I'm--sorry. Gracie. I mentioned that, didn't I? You're--you're famous in my world. I mean....you're probably famous in your world too. Sorry, I'm going to stop acting like a total fan girl and have a drink."

Because she probably needs one now. She orders a beer and takes a sip of it, still internally fangirling, but trying to conceal it on the outside. "It's really nice to meet you," she follows up. Which is ridiculous, what she really wants to say is that it's amazing, it's impossible, it's so cool to meet him.
