After a while of realizing that her door is actually... not opening, Alaina has decided to look for a house. And she found one. It's just a thoroughly modern one full of equipment she's never seen before and while it looks nice, there's one room in particular that she would swear was pulled straight from an Orlesian noble's house, it's.. kind of intimidating, too.
Especially since it all seems to run on that electricity thing Natasha told her about. Getting over her distrust of the creepy weird box thing Natasha called a PDA device (Alaina thinks that's right) was hard enough; dealing with all of the rest of this? Well, that's going to take a lot longer. So eventually, she gives up and tries to figure out the communication device.

Alaina comes on the screen, frowning intently at the device. Her bright purple eyes look more pink in the light from the window to her right and they likely stand out more than her deep red hair. It's a while before she realizes that the device is on. Mostly because she's never done this before. She's assuming it works. Or is working. It might not be, but she'll try anyway. Finally sitting back in her chair, she attempts the message.
"My name is Alaina Trevelyan. I'm fairly new here and I'm in need of assistance, if anyone's feeling up to the task. My door still won't open, so I decided to find somewhere to live for a while, until it does and I can go back to Skyhold. The problem is that this house is full of--" She has to say it slowly because it's still an unfamiliar word to her, but she does manage it without mangling it. "--electricity and that's something we don't have in Thedas. I haven't seen any fire pits around, either. I might have to make one to cook."
But that can come later. A slight frown crosses her face for a second, she's getting distracted, before her expression smooths out again.
"If there's anyone willing to come teach me what all of this equipment is and how to use it, I would appreciate your help."
That's.. probably when she should turn it off, but since she doesn't really know how they work, she ends up fiddling with it again for a while before the screen goes blank and the recording finally terminates.

If anyone wants to completely bypass talking to her on the device -- that's probably the wisest course of action at this point -- she'll be sitting around outside or swinging her greataxe around. The last thing she wants is to let her skills rot while she doesn't have anything to do. She'll be willing to talk to anyone, regardless of whether or not they have come for her request, though they may want to announce their presence to her before approaching.

action
She sees Alaina outside, swinging the greataxe with impressive skill. It's not a weapon that Allison knows how to use, that's for sure. She does, however, know the importance of announcing one's presence when someone is obviously armed with any kind of weapon.
"Hi." She says loud enough to be heard, but not too loudly. She's not standing too close either, after all, as she likes her head without an axe in it. She'll wait until she's acknowledged as being there before speaking further.
action
When she hears the voice, Alaina does stop, partway through her sequence. For a moment, she pauses with her weapon held in hand before replacing it on her back. Always take care of your weapons.
"Hi," she replies. "Are you my knight come to rescue me from the dreaded equipment?"
Says the woman in heavy armor with a greataxe strapped to her back.
