Despite the course of her life being less than ideal, Helen usually sleeps fairly well. She has the occasional nightmare these days, but usually if she can't get restful sleep, she stays awake. Or she just doesn't try to sleep at all. All right, so maybe the lack of nightmares doesn't mean she sleeps well normally. She doesn't expect the nightmare that comes after the party. Who would?

It traces events in her life -- Normandy, France and the fire elemental, being tied and held captive while watching the Nazi Colonel Korba torture James in various ways, none of which are the way it actually happened. John. 1888. Tracking down Jack the Ripper, using the bodies of his victims and often getting killed by him herself.

Sometimes the nightmare curves, leaving her alive until she watches everyone she ever loved die over and over and over. There's even a young woman with full blonde hair who blows up in a spectacular explosion of red. Sometimes she takes Helen with her and they both die in the explosion. Sometimes Helen lives, sobbing her heart out on the floor of the Sanctuary's main lab.

The end is never the same and it's hard to say where each will turn. Regardless, there's a lot of fuel in Helen's mind to draw from and it will not be a pleasant ride.

Afterwards Helen will keep to herself, preferring not to know if anyone saw her nightmares or not, though she isn't entirely unreachable. She does, however, patrol the city a little and she might be looking for a place to set up a Sanctuary in Itinere. Maybe.
