Who: Raven kids
When: The entire month of July
Where: Mostly the Barns, but I'm okay with it being used for anywhere in town
Warnings: Let's just make it R for everyone's sake. It might have everything in it.



With the lights out, the month of July takes the shape of some sort of weird slumber party. During the day everyone goes about their business. Adam works, Gansey researches, Ronan bugs the ever living crap out of Adam. Noah and Blue do whatever Noah and Blue do. Ronan suspects they’re still adjusting to this place. He knows it’s got to be a big adjustment for Noah. It’s probably not an easy one for Blue either who’s more accustomed to being around the craziness of 300 Fox Way rather than the craziness of Monmouth.

He knows it’ll be awkward at first, but when the electricity fails Ronan suggests that everyone stay out at The Barns. There’s plenty of room and several things that don’t use electricity to work like toasters and one shower that never runs out of hot water. Ronan feels better having the people he cares about under one roof, particularly when they’re not sure what the hell else is going to happen. Gansey agrees readily enough, always happy to have all of his people close by.

While The Barns allow everyone the space they need so that no one is piled up on top of each other, it is lacking in bedrooms. There’s the bedroom that Niall and Aurora shared, Matthew’s bedroom, Ronan’s bedroom and Declan’s bedroom (they can draw straws for that one). Ronan didn’t give anyone (including Adam) a vote when he claimed his room for he and Adam. He told the others they could sleep wherever the hell they liked. The couch in the den was pretty damn comfortable.

The Barns are also cluttered with dream things. The house, for the most part, contains the bits and pieces that function properly. Aurora had seen to that. However, there’s an entire barn full of frustration dreams for everyone to explore. The animals still lie sleeping where they’d been when Niall had died. For the most part, Ronan doesn’t mind his friends picking through the things and exploring. Niall’s office in one of the barns is locked and it’ll stay that way. He’d prefer that no one touch the mask on the wall that he’d had that awful dream, but it’s really only off limits to Adam (who knows that by now).

Explore, settle in. Ronan really is happy to have everyone here, to be able to share this with everyone.

"A little over an hour ago. I followed the energy here," Persephone tells her. "Of course you're here making it all stronger. Making everything louder."

She leans back enough to look into Blue's face, assessing her mood. "You're all right?"

Blue had wondered about that. It's been difficult to tell if she did indeed make things louder here. Though Itinere is quite possibly the most magical place she's ever been (not that Blue makes it a habit to go to magical places all too often), she hasn't met any psychics that might use her talents to boost their own skills. Noah's alive here. He doesn't need her help, either.

Whether that's a good thing or not has yet to be decided.

"Oh, you know me. I'm doing just fine. There's no use in panicking when finding yourself trapped in magical worlds." There might be a touch more sarcasm to those words than she intended. "Was there a door behind you when you walked in?"

"No," Persephone says, a touch forlornly too. Though she's dead there and alive here, so that's a plus.

"That's interesting that the door disappeared," she tells Blue. She'll investigate. "You haven't kissed any boys, have you?"

[makeslouder]

"It means you're stuck here," Blue explains a little grudgingly. She is not going to bother dignifying that last question with an answer. Of course she hasn't kissed any boys. But she can't get the image out of her head. She and Gansey leaning against the Blue, his breath warm on her ear, they're cheeks touch. It's the closest thing she'll ever have to a kiss with him. "Like the rest of us."

"'Stuck.'"

Persephone says the word like it's something in a foreign language. Then she shrugs.

It could be worse.

"Do you mind if I make a pie?"

[makeslouder]

It seems like such a Persephone thing to ask that Blue doesn't even think twice about her answer.

"No," she says. The boys will probably enjoy it, too. "Do you want me to show you where the kitchen is?"

"Yes, please. And we have to have butter. Real butter. Margarine doesn't make good pie crust. It needs to be unsalted butter," Persephone says, looking around and looking frazzled at the same time. "Are you happy here?"

[makeslouder]

"I don't know if there's butter." She hasn't payed all that much attention to what Ronan stocks in the fridge as long as there's yogurt there. And there is. Enough yogurt to keep Blue happy for weeks. Not to mention an assortment of fruits and vegetables. "It's not Henrietta but I don't mind it. We usually live in Monmouth."

"Of course you do," Persephone says, going quiet as she looks at Blue. Here, the girl can be free from all the women in 300 Fox Way. It makes the most sense in a way.

"See if there's butter, please, Blue."

[makeslouder]

She doesn't exactly see it as a chance to be free from all the women in 300 Fox Way, not when she loves them all very much. They're her family. She wouldn't be Blue without the influence they've all had on her. But at the same time, she's happy for a chance to grow.

"Do you want to stay with us?" Blue asks as she opens the fridge. She pushes her way past some of the stranger items until she finds a stick of butter on a plastic plate. She takes it out and brings it to the counter. "In Monmouth? When the lights go back on."

"You don't really want me there," Persephone says, and she's not hurt by that. "And it's too loud anyway, especially if the greywaren is there and whatever Gansey is." No kissing boys."
