All right, my sister has decided that I have two choices: I can get off my ass and make some new friends or I can find somewhere else to live. Since I'm terrible at the former and not interested in the latter, I guess I'm going to need some help.

What is there to do around here?

[ Because, quite honestly, he's been keeping largely to himself, so as not to third wheel Buffy and Alcide...but he's also been more than a little clingy; he can't help it. Laura's alive. That novelty isn't going to fade any time soon.

This message is going to have to do. Her exact suggestion was that he get off his ass and "get laid" but he's still not ready to move past the unspoken...whatever he had with Katniss back in Alpha Complex. ]

ACTION
Admittedly, this place is a lot more relaxing than Beacon Hills or the Alpha Complex had been and Derek really can't complain. It's nice being able to just be himself and find that no one gives a rat's ass. He doesn't really run around saving the city with his sister, mostly because he's still so conditioned against letting himself be who he really is, but he likes the idea that he could if he could just muster up the energy and confidence to do it without being afraid of being hunted for the sake of being hunted.

Or thrown in jail for being a traitor for literally anything that he might say or do.

Walking through town and just sort of looking at the sights in spite of the fact that he's seen them all a hundred times, Derek allows himself to take things in with a fresh set of eyes. The people are friendly here. The streets smell like the coffee shops and eateries he passes, rather than nothing at all because he hadn't had his sense of smell.

Maybe he could settle here. Maybe once he gets over Katniss and just moves on, then he can actually settle down here. Maybe he'll meet another woman; maybe she'll be The One, if he's especially lucky. Derek is finding more and more that he could get used to it here. He just has to let himself.
He can do that. Right?

Buffy has been here long enough to settle in, to come up with some sort of routine. She considered getting a job at the coffee shop for a while, but ultimately has decided to treat this like the semi-vacation she's never actually gotten to take. She sleeps in, cleans house then spends her afternoons wandering around the town.

Today, she's doing some shopping, going into the many stores Itinere provides and coming out laden with shopping bags. Mid-afternoon, she stops by the cafe, grabs a cup of a coffee and a crossiant then sits in the sun to do some people watching. Despite being settled and hopeful about this place, she hasn't figured it out. There has to be a catch because there is always a catch. Once she's done with her coffee, she carries her bags back to the Summers house, drops everything off and spends a little time with the others living there.

Once evening has fallen and has officially become 'late' night, Buffy grabs her scythe and goes out to patrol. She doesn't expect to find anything out of the ordinary. She doesn't expect to slay anything at all, but years of conditioning and soemthing in her slayer makeup drives her out there anyway. She gets restless if she doesn't patrol. Besides, if anything did happen, she'd feel guilty for not patrolling.

Someone want to explain what the hell is going on here?

action

Jessica doesn't walk anywhere; she stalks and storms. She storms into The Houndstooth, orders a bottle of whiskey telling the bartender to just leave the bottle because "you'll have to see me less and I won't have to talk to you". She takes a swig from the bottle then turns her attention to the PDA, poking at it and scrolling angrily (can someone even scroll angrily? Jessica manages it) through the thing.

"You're fucking serious. What kind of rich asshole brought us here and if it's Tony Stark I'm going to beat him and his bodyguard's ass."

[ There's a blonde on the screen. She's got her long, curly hair pulled over one shoulder and she's leaning in a little on her elbows. She waves at the screen. ] So, this is definitely not a book review. In fact, I'm sort of wondering what I'm going to do my vlogs over if it's not books. Maybe I'll just talk about them in a general sense. Books are good. Portable magic. Yadda yadda. it's not the same, is it? [ She sighs dramatically. ] Aslan and I are at the book store, in our proper bodies. Come see us at Subtext and have an iced coffee. Gracie out.

Action
For those that take Gracie up on her offer of books and iced coffee, they'll find her curled up in a big, squishy armchair near the front of the shop. She's reading a book and has an iced coffee at hand. There's a grey and white Scottish Fold cat dozing in the front window. She'd had a fun few days in Dani's body, zipping around, running into things and generally making a pest of herself, but she's grateful to be in her own body again.

When the bell over the door rings out, Gracie looks up with a smile on her face. "Hey, have a look around and if I can help you with anything, let me know."

Unless, of course, she knows you, then she'll be out of her chair, coffee abandoned on an end table to dole out hugs.

Is everyone here very stoned? | Open Action
[Action]

Spike had been here for days. He’d spent every single one of those days hiding in an abandoned building (something he realized there weren’t many of here). He spent his nights swaggering his way through town and trying to locate a source of blood that didn’t involve him killing someone for. He didn’t trust the clinic here enough to approach them, but he had found a butcher that would provide him animal blood. It wasn’t ideal, and he hated the taste of it, but it would do in a pinch. He wanted a little more information on this place before he started settling in.

At first, he thought that Bit had accidentally pulled them both into another dimension, but Dawn hadn’t walked through that door with him. Besides, he’d remember a big, glowing portal and the only thing he remembered was his bedroom door. This place definitely wasn’t his bedroom. Yes, he’d found the phone in his pocket, but he hadn’t paid much attention to it. He could use technology, but it wasn’t really his thing. He’d also found an electronic key and he understood that it belonged to an apartment that he was meant to stay in. That sounded like a trap to Spike, and until he was certain it wasn’t, he had no intention of stepping foot in this apartment.

That being said, he spends a great deal of time prowling around the town at night. It reminds him a bit of Sunnydale with fewer baddies. He can be found almost anywhere, but he actually prefers to frequent The Houndstooth. It’s a little high class for his liking, but they’d refused to take his money the first night and they had Jameson. He’s gotten by on much less before.

Action

Two seconds earlier, Buffy had been walking toward the room in the Alpha Complex that she didn’t share with anyone. She’d opened the door, stepped through and started to unzip the orange jumpsuit she wore. Two seconds ago she’d been in an underground complex and now...she wasn’t.

Her hand freezes on the zipper of her jumpsuit then falls to her side (it’s only unzipped about an inch).

“Toto...I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore,” she murmurs. She’s pretty sure she’s not in San Francisco either. There are some pretty important landmarks missing, like the bridge, and the beach looks suspiciously more like the one in Sunnydale than in San Francisco. This calls for an exploration, and some damn information. If she were more certain about the population here, she might find something inhuman and evil to beat information out of, but since nothing is jumping out at her to volunteer, she’s going to have to stick to finding things out in a much more polite way.

She really wishes (for the billionth time since being pulled into the Alpha Complex) that she wasn’t wearing a bright orange jumpsuit. She’s pretty sure it doesn’t inspire trust in anyone. She slips her hands into her pockets as she starts to walk and finds the PDA that was definitely not there before. Her brow furrows and she starts poking at buttons, eventually pulling up the network:

Echo one nine, is anyone there? I’m pretty sure I just mixed my military and trucker walkie etiquette, but seriously? Is anyone there?
