It surprises Kara that Lucy gets up and goes behind the bar like it's no big deal, but then when the bartender doesn't seem to mind when she notices, Kara assumes it means that Lucy works here or is at least close enough with the bartender to get away with it. That's enough for Kara. "Thank you," she says quietly, pulling the glass closer and lifting it to take a sip once she's served. The expression on her face registers a pleasant surprise for a second before settling again. Kara Danvers carries the weight of the world on her shoulders when she doesn't need to. There's no reason to. And yet, here she is, thinking that she's been brought to this new place and now she's not only trapped here when she has responsibilities back home, but now she has to protect new people and a new city like it's her own because, for now, it is her own.
"Fair enough," Kara replies softly, taking another sip. "This is good, you're right," she says, although there's a lack of fervor in her tone, which has nothing at all to do with Lucy or the drink.
Kara looks over at the other woman. "What was the other place like? What's this place like?" Granted, Lucy's started to tell her a little about it, but admittedly, Kara's been distracted with her own feelings. This time, she's making it her mission to pay full attention and actually absorb and retain in the answers she's given. It's important.
