But Jill just tried to make a joke out of it, a joke that turns out to be more deadpan than anything. Most people don't get Jill's sense of humor. Jill is laughing on the inside though, easily amused as she is.

She fills a pint beer glass with a light beer and sets it on a coaster in front of Hawke. "I guess I'm pretty lucky not to have all this crazy where I'm from. Usually this place is pretty nice too." Itinere, so far, has been good to her.
