As soon as the horse shakes his head, she takes a step back. The temptation to pet him is still there but Jenny doesn't fancy herself an idiot. A good soldier doesn't rush foolishly into an unknown situation without having a strategy at hand. And though she's eager to prove to her father that she can be so much more than a soldier, the knowledge she was born with is still very much a part of her.
